Recently, VirBELA has seen a sizable uptick in demand for large events seeking a virtual alternative. In late April, our client Laval Virtual hosted the largest event we’ve seen on the platform to date. More than 6,600 people from 110 countries attended Laval Virtual World 2020, which took place in their private campus, hosting conferences, business meetings, an awards ceremony, as well as fun activities and challenges.
Laval Virtual, a key facilitator for organizations in the VR/AR sector, brings together a community of professionals throughout the year, and opted to host this year’s annual conference in their VirBELA virtual world due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The event featured over 150 speakers and six tracks that took place over a course of three days, bringing together technology experts and industry leaders, highlighting the latest technological innovations and trends that define the future in the fields of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.
“We are proud of this collaboration! Our partnership with VirBELA was born from a thorough research of all the existing platforms for remote events, and they had what could meet all our needs: a very accessible solution, fun & well thought interactions, great conference and meeting configurations, but also significant possibilities of concurrent connections” said Laurent Chrétien, CEO of Laval Virtual. “We are looking forward to doing more, and helping each other to make communities thrive in these virtual environments.”
Laval Virtual World 2020 demonstrates the VirBELA platform’s ability to bring large groups of people together in a time when social distancing is the new normal. Coming together as avatars allows us to work and play in a way that feels immersive and personal. It gives users a sense of space, allowing them to explore, interact and socialize -- bringing events to life.
